At Universum Bremen, visitors are currently encountering a very special topic: the exhibition “Love — Science Meets Heartbeat” invites you to get to the bottom of what is probably the most beautiful feeling in the world. Here, love is not just viewed as a romantic construct, but as a multi-faceted phenomenon with many dimensions: from the parent-child relationship to hormonal processes in the brain and funny stories from the animal world. The exhibition sheds light on how love tastes, smells and feels, how hormones such as oxytocin, dopamine and adrenaline work and why this feeling sometimes calms and at other times excites. Seven themed areas with interactive stations, digital exhibits and creative hands-on activities — such as designing a love calligram — offer impressive and surprising approaches to big and small questions about the phenomenon of love.
Conceived by the Parisian museum “Palais de la Découverte” and further developed at Universum Bremen, the exhibition appeals to visitors from the age of ten and invites them to marvel, smile and try things out creatively. Those who want to delve deeper can also take advantage of special offers for groups and school classes or book a lovingly put together short trip package that combines science, culinary delights and the special charm of Bremen. The “Love” exhibition is a place where heart and mind, curiosity and emotion come together in an inspiring way.
