From 22 October 2025 to 26 April 2026, the Archaeological Museum Hamburg will open its doors for a very special journey: Under the title “Myth of Superheroes”, visitors can expect a colourful and exciting tour through the history of heroic legends. The exhibition ranges from ancient deities such as Heracles or the Greek Amazon to modern comic icons such as Superman, Batman and Wonderwoman. The role models of contemporary superheroes in ancient myths and legends are explored from an archaeological perspective, revealing the origins of today’s heroic figures.
The extensive programme accompanying the exhibition offers numerous highlights for both children and adults: Guided tours, hands-on activities and lectures invite visitors to immerse themselves in the world of flying, wall-climbing and magnetic force-controlling humans. Comic fans can look forward to an impressive collection of superhero comics and figures, while groups of ten or more should book their visit in advance to avoid waiting times. The exhibition promises a reunion with the heroes of childhood for all generations and an eclectic mix of entertainment and knowledge transfer.
