The special exhibition “Paths through time. The history of the Glauberg” in the Celtic World on the Glauberg offers a fascinating insight into the eventful past of the famous mountain on the eastern edge of the Wetterau until the end of 2025. As the site of important archaeological discoveries — such as the famous “Celtic prince of the Glauberg” and other richly decorated graves from the Celtic era around 400 BC — the Glauberg has long attracted the attention of researchers and visitors alike. The exhibition takes visitors on a virtual tour around the Glauberg and presents numerous, often never-before-seen artefacts from various eras: From Neolithic settlement remains and magnificent jewellery from the Iron Age to relics from Roman times and the Middle Ages, the multi-faceted history of the site comes to life.
Instead of a chronological order, the artefacts are presented along an imaginary route that could be followed along the mountain. Each of the nine stations is accompanied by an archaeologist who provides exciting background information on the individual sections. The result is a lively journey through local and European history, including unusual finds such as Bronze Age artefacts, evidence of late antiquity and curious relics from the 18th century. At the end, a digital rest area invites visitors to relax and discover their personal favourites on interactive touchscreens — an ideal highlight for anyone interested in history who wants to experience the Glauberg in a completely new way.
