The current sculpture exhibition at the Kunsthalle Rostock opens up new perspectives on the museum’s fascinating collection. The exhibition includes sculptures and sculptural works as well as installations and mixed-media works that oscillate between figuration and abstraction. The curatorial design by Antje Schunke, a research associate at the Kunsthalle, will restage the works in the Schaudepot. Her aim is to provide not only connoisseurs of the Rostock collection, but also visitors from abroad with fresh access to the collection.
A special focus is placed on artistic positions from the international Baltic Sea region, which further emphasise the uniqueness of the Rostock collection. Exhibitions, guided tours and various educational formats invite visitors to familiarise themselves with different ways of looking at art. This not only reveals the diversity of the sculptural language, but also intensifies the dialogue between the works and the visitors — an inspiring experience for all art lovers and the curious.
