The ex­hi­bi­ti­on “Hel­lo Image. The Sta­ging of Things” at the Mu­se­um für Kunst & Ge­wer­be Ham­burg in­vi­tes vi­si­torsto dis­co­ver the path from pro­duct to ico­nic ob­ject. It pres­ents pho­to­graphs by re­now­ned pro­duct pho­to­grapher Hans Han­sen as well as con­tri­bu­ti­ons by re­now­ned de­si­gnersand ex­perts such as Kon­stan­tin Grcic, Vik­to­ria Lea Hein­rich and Dey­an Sud­jic. A com­pre­hen­si­ve ca­ta­lo­gue has be­en pu­blished to ac­com­pa­ny the ex­hi­bi­ti­on, of­fe­ring ex­ci­ting in­sights in­to the in­ter­play bet­ween de­sign, pho­to­gra­phy and ever­y­day aes­the­tics on 248 pa­ges wi­th 194 il­lus­tra­ti­ons.

Spe­cial high­lights of the ex­hi­bi­ti­on are the va­rious edu­ca­tio­nal for­mats. Vi­si­tor groups can choo­se bet­ween clas­sic gui­ded tours and in­ter­ac­ti­ve mu­se­um talks — in­clu­ding the “de­sign lab”, whe­re pro­ducts can be put th­rough their paces and tes­ted. A stop-mo­ti­on work­shop opens up a crea­ti­ve ap­proach to ob­ject sta­ging and en­cou­ra­ges vi­si­tors to stage de­sign ob­jects them­sel­ves. Whe­ther as an in­di­vi­du­al vi­si­tor, group or school class, the “Hel­lo Image” ex­hi­bi­ti­on shows how ever­y­day ob­jects are gi­ven a new mea­ning th­rough sta­ging and de­sign and pro­vi­de new per­spec­ti­ves on the re­la­ti­onship bet­ween peo­p­le and ob­jects.
