From 18 April 2025 to 22 February 2026, the Museum für Kunst & Gewerbe Hamburg is presenting an exciting selection of new acquisitions and infographics from the Graphics and Poster Collection in the exhibition “Flatware and Paper Cakes”. The show presents works in a wide variety of styles, including Annik Troxler’s haunting digital print motif “Coronavirus — Rethink now!” (2020), Barbara Lüdde’s expressively drawn punk poster series “I Not Dance” (2012) and Stefan Marx’s urban statement “Right to the City” (2009) as an offset print.
The exhibits reflect the creative diversity of graphic art and also take a critical look at social issues. Posters such as “Lieber solidarisch als solide arisch” by Dies Irae (2012) stand for a clear stance against exclusion and discrimination, while the album cover “Okay Temiz — denizaltı rüzgarları — dokuz sekiz” by Betül Dengili Atlı (1975) emphasises the artistic range of the exhibition. In addition to the on-site picture gallery, the exhibition invites visitors to rediscover the role of graphics and posters as a means of protest and expression in public space.
