20 ye­ars of the Ros­tock Art Pri­ze — An an­ni­ver­sa­ry for pain­ting at the Kunst­hal­le Ros­tock

The Ros­tock Art Pri­ze is ce­le­bra­ting its 20th an­ni­ver­sa­ry this year and will be de­di­ca­ted en­ti­re­ly to the su­pre­me di­sci­pli­ne of pain­ting in 2026. The pri­ze has be­en a fix­tu­re in the north-east Ger­man art sce­ne for two de­ca­des and is joint­ly or­ga­nis­ed by the Kunst­hal­le Ros­tock and the Kul­tur­stif­tung Ros­tock e. V. (Ros­tock Cul­tu­ral Foun­da­ti­on). Spon­so­red by the PRO­VIN­ZI­AL insu­rance com­pa­ny, the 10,000 eu­ro pri­ze is a gre­at plat­form for pro­fes­sio­nal ar­tists wi­th a con­nec­tion to Meck­len­burg-Vor­pom­mern who want to pre­sent their works of art to a wi­de au­di­ence.

The four fi­na­lists, sel­ec­ted by an ex­pert ju­ry from all over Ger­ma­ny and MV, will ex­hi­bit their works in a spe­cial se­ries of ex­hi­bi­ti­ons at the Kunst­hal­le Ros­tock. The win­ner will be an­noun­ced and ho­no­u­red at a fes­ti­ve ce­rem­o­ny. The Ros­tock Art Pri­ze is far mo­re than just an ho­nour — it pro­mo­tes ar­tis­tic ex­ch­an­ge and streng­thens the ap­peal of the Bal­tic Sea re­gi­on far bey­ond its bor­ders.
